How to Create a Custom Report

Custom reports in Netreo are reports comprised of a collection of other reports. You can add any report you run in Netreo to a custom report and it will be included in that report with all the same settings it was originally configured with.

Follow the process below to create an empty custom report framework to which you can add individual report sections. Until you add some individual reports to it, the custom report framework will be empty.

Any report you run in Netreo can be added to your custom report framework by selecting the framework in the Email & Schedule button of that report.

To create a new, empty custom report framework:

  1. From the Netreo main menu, select Reports > Custom.
  2. On the Custom Report page:

    1. Click the Custom Report Admin button to open the Custom Report Administration page.
  3. On the Custom Report Administration page:

    1. Click the Add Custom Report button.
    2. In the pop-up dialog that appears:

      1. Enter a name for your report. This is the name by which your report will be displayed on the Custom Report Administration page.
      2. Enter a description for your report. This will display when you hover the mouse over the info icon next to the report name.
      3. Click Add This Custom Report.
  4. Find your new report in the EXISTING CUSTOM REPORTS list on the Custom Report Administration page:

    1. Click the icon in the ENABLED SCHEDULES column for your report.
    2. In the pop-up dialog that appears:

      1. Click the Add Schedule button.
      2. In the dialog that appears:

        1. Click the checkbox next to the ENABLE option to make this schedule active for mailing your report.
        2. In the RECIPIENT(S) field, enter one or more email addresses to which this report will be sent, separated by a comma.
        3. From the FREQUENCY pulldown select one of the preconfigured delivery time frames (how often the report will be run and sent).
        4. From the TIMEFRAME pulldown select the time frame for which the report will be run (the amount of time covered by the report). Selecting “Leave as is (default)” means the report should use the original time frames specified in the individual report section.
        5. From the FORMAT pulldown select the format in which you wish the report to be delivered (e.g. PDF, CSV).
        6. Click Set Schedule For This Report.
      3. If you wish to add another schedule, click the Add Schedule button again and repeat the above process.
      4. When you are finished adding your schedules, close the dialog.

You now have a custom report framework to which you can add other reports. Now, whenever you generate a report in Netreo, the option to add that report to a custom report will become available. Click the Email & Schedule button of the report, select “Add to custom report” and then select the name of the custom report to add that report to.

The indicator in the SECTIONS column for your report framework displays how many individual reports you have added to the framework. To see what your custom report will look like (once you’ve added some content), click the eye icon in the ACTIONS column for your report framework. The report will open in a new tab or browser window for you to preview it. The preview will show current, correct data for all reports.

If you’d like to edit the name or description of your custom report, click the edit icon in the ACTIONS column for your custom report.

If you’d like to email your report to its intended recipients right now, click the email now icon in the ACTIONS column for your custom report.
