How to Set Custom Point Values for a Device in a Strategic Group

To set custom point values for a device in a strategic group:

From the OmniCenter main menu, select Administration → Grouping → Strategic Group to open the the Strategic Group Administration page.

On the Strategic Group Administration page, click the edit button in the ACTIONS column of the group containing the device(s) you would like to set custom point values for to open the strategic group edit page.

On the strategic group edit page, click the title of the collapsed Devices panel to display the list of devices contained within this strategic group.

Find the device you would like to set custom point values for and click the edit button in its ACTIONS column to open the device points configuration page.

On the device points configuration page:

  1. In the “Host Points” field, enter the point value that a host check for this device contributes to the total group score (or leave empty to keep the default).
  2. In the “Service Points” field, enter the point value that each service check on this devices contributes to the total group score (or leave empty to keep the default).
  3. In the “Thresholds Points” field, enter the point value that each threshold check on this device contributes to the total group score (or leave empty to keep the default).
  4. Click the Save Changes button to save the custom point scores for this device.

The score columns in the device list will now display your custom point values and the strategic group total score will now be evaluated based on the new values. Every device in the group can have custom point values if you like. Any devices without custom values will continue to use the default values.
